Paloma Báscones Franco, director

Born in Lima (Peru) she studied vocal technique, piano and flute plus music education and choir conducting at the National Conservatory in Lima and voice at the Conservatory in Badalona. Besides her formal education, she has also taken courses in choral conducting with José Antonio Gutiérrez (Peru), Werner Pfaff (Germany), Carlos Fernández (Spain), Pedro Silva (Venezuela and Josep Prats (Catalonia) and orchestra conducting with Eduardo García-Barrios (Mexico), David Mackenzie (USA), Chistoff Hagel and Christoff König (Germany) and Carlos Fernández. In 2002 she studied at the Bonn Opera House.

In April 2003 she founded the chamber choir “Secreto Voces” which she directed when they took part in several international music festivals. They have also made two recordings. She has directed several choral groups, such as the children’s choir “Tic-Tac” in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, the choir at the National Conservatory of Music in Lima (as an assistant), the “Coro de Madrigalistas” at the PUCP as well as the Choir Directors’ Association of Peru. Currently, she is director of the choir “Mare de Déu del Turó” (Montcada).
